The history of JF-STOLL

In 1951 Jens Freudendahl starts the production of self-binders, and is thereby founding the JF-Fabriken in Sønderborg, Denmark. The self-binders are sold under the name light-binder as they can be driven by just one horse. This means that smallholders and small farms with the light-binder are given the possibility to mechanize and streamline their farm. Thereby JF-Fabriken has strongly contributed to the mechanisation of the agriculture after the World War 2.

In the following decades the JF-Fabriken grows into becoming one of the leading manufacturers of agricultural machinery in Europe. Among others with the production of self-binders, universal wagons, forage harvesters and combiners. JF-Fabriken establishes in that connection both sales and production companies in several European countries.

Through the 1990’s JF-Fabriken co-operates with the German manufacturer Wilhelm STOLL Maschinenfabrik GmbH concerning production of rakes and tedders and the distribution of front loaders. Wilhelm STOLL Maschinenfabrik GmbH was founded in 1878 in Luckenwalde near Berlin. In the years between 1906 and 1945 the company was seated in Torgau, near the Elbe River. After the 2nd world war the company moves to Lengede south east of Hannover. Here the Wilhelm STOLL Maschinenfabrik GmbH develops and manufactures beet crop harvesters, grassland machinery and front loaders.

In 1999 Wilhelm STOLL Maschinenfabrik GmbH was taken over by Freudendahl Invest A/S (the mother company of the JF-Fabriken). Since 2005 Wilhelm STOLL Maschinenfabrik GmbH manufactures STOLL front loaders only and today the factory is the leading manufacturer of front loaders in Germany and No. 2 in Europe. Meanwhile the production of hay machines has been transferred from the Wilhelm STOLL Maschinenfabrik GmbH to the JF-Fabriken. Now the JF-Fabriken has a complete range of machinery for production and feeding of green fodder to cattle farmers which is sold under the name JF-STOLL.
